WeatherTAP.com subscribers can now view Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR), giving users access to "city level" radar sites located near 45 major airports in the U.S. TDWR can detect dangerous conditions such as wind shear, enhancing aviation safety.
WeatherTAP.com subscribers can now have severe weather alerts sent to their cell phones via text message by filling out a simple form. User may enter the 10-digits of up to two cell phones to receive alerts.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced the 2009 hurricane season will be near normal. However, even with a “near normal” season, NOAA forecasters are predicting a 70% chance of nine to 14 named storms—four to seven that could possibly become hurricanes.
