Lightning in RadarLab GIS

The lightning data in RadarLab GIS gives the user five-minute updates with a minimum age of only 10 minutes, plus the ability to zoom into street level with the appropriate data. The lightning data, produced by the United States Precision Lightning Network, is the result of a partnership with WSI Corporation and TOA Systems, Inc. Other lightning packages are available. Individual strikes are portrayed with a color coded marker symbol. The placement of the marker indicates the location of the strike. The color of the marker indicates when the strike occurred. For example, the newest strikes are white. Slightly older strikes are yellow, and so on. Eight ranges are available. The user may change the color as well as the time ranges.
